Attention!
Do not load system, install or run the program on a partition
where data to recovery is located, otherwise it may be owerwritten.
To prevent writing to the problem disk
load system from the removable media (LiveCD, bootable flash drive)
and run the program from the removable media (diskette, flash drive).
To install and run the program extract all files and folders to the separate folder (which may be on removable media) and execute the file dmde.exe or dmde or other executable or command file which is provided with the given program version. At first execution some settings are saved to the file dmde.ini in the program folder. If disk is write-protected you have to enter the settings on each exectuion.
Attention!
Windows 9x/ME handles 128 Gb and larger drives incorrectly.
In this case reload computer in MS-DOS mode
and use DOS version of the program to access drives via BIOS or ATA-interface or
load another Windows version from the removable media.
To use the program you should login as Administrator.
Attention!
To work with 128 Gb and larger drives under Windows 2K/XP
certain ServicePacks must be installed and LBA48 support must be switched on in the registers.
To run program as Administrator right-click the program icon and use the corresponding command in the context menu.
At first go to the Terminal or run Teminal emulator. Enter the full path to the program or change current directory to the program folder and enter ./dmde. If it is necessary with your version of Linux enter a prefix to execute as Superuser (e.g., sudo ./dmde). If necessary set execution permission for the file dmde.
To prepare bootable DOS diskette under Windows XP format empty diskette using option "Format bootable MS-DOS disk". Remove all files except AUTOTEXEC.BAT, COMMAND.COM, CONFIG.SYS, IO.SYS, MSDOS.SYS, EGA3.CPI (or another *.CPI file). Copy files DMDE.EXE, CWSDPMI.EXE, DMDE.INI, EULA_EN.TXT and folder LOCALS from the DMDE package to the diskette. Move EGA3.CPI to the folder LOCALS. Boot from the diskette and type dmde in the command string.
