MenuTools→Copy Sectors

Copy Sectors

Write editor object/selected block/sectors to a file or to another disk. This is a tool for creating images of devices, partitions, volumes, for writing images back to devices, for device cloning...

The upper part of the dialog box is for Source, the lower part is for destination.

Last Sector and Number of Sectors of the destination disk are used as an upper bound only. If the source size is less than Number of Sectors of the destination disk then only source size is used. If the source size is greater than Number of Sectors of the destination then it will be suggested to copy only first part of the source which fit into the Number of Sectors of the destination.

backward copy: at first copy sectors from the end of the source. If devices don't contain bad sectors the result will be the same. However, this may help if there is problem coping bad sectors at the middle part of the disk.

Do not clear file if exists: need this option if copy to the same file twice: from the beginning and from the end (backward copy).

Take into account that maximum file size on a FAT volume is 4 Gb.

Device I/O Dialog Box allows setting the number of retries when reading bad sectors.

If RAID is contsructed it may be used as a source or as a destination.
